What is The Family Journey?

    The Family Journey was begun in January 2007 as a means to bring together activists, birth professionals, care providers, and community members to work collaboratively to focus attention on the issues faced by childbearing women and their families. The goal of this effort is to change current birth culture from one of fear, ignorance, and manipulation to that of informed understanding and calm anticipation. Birth, and how it happens, affects us all.

    The Family Journey’s mission is to actively support awareness, informed consent, and knowledge of resources for families who wish to experience safe, satisfying births. We provide respectful and trustworthy guidance on the path of pregnancy, birth, and new parenthood. Community outreach is achieved through the organization’s website, monthly meetings, and special events.

    The Family Journey is a Colorado non-profit organization.
