The President of the International Cesarean Awareness Network does a great interview on VBAC, HBAC, and cesarean in general. Listen or read it here.
She mentions near the end that ICAN now has forums on their website. Please check them out if you’re seeking support or can share a positive birth story.

This slideshow has some nice captions that capture what homebirth means to so many families who choose that option. If you haven’t already, check out the article, Baby, You’re Home in the New York Times online.
This site is fun! It’s like a choose-your-own-adventure for birth! The good and bad: no matter what you choose, you have a positive experience. I tried and couldn’t make a choice that impacted the labor negatively, except perhaps for drawing it out a little longer. A game that gives the option of ‘induce labor 3 weeks prior to due date’ may have more chances for a less-than-optimal outcome!
I’d love to see the people in power heed Ms. Block’s words in this article.
A 70-year-old mama in India gave birth to a daughter via cesarean section last month. (Which factors led to the decision to have a cesarean birth?) After reading the article, I had to wonder which of the mentioned concerns would be the same if the mother was an American. What would you think if your 70-year-old aunt were pregnant?
Update: A segment on Orgasmic Birth will air on ABC’s 20/20 January 2nd at 10pm Eastern Time (8:00pm here).
